New Delhi: The two-day-long Standing Conference of Public Enterprises' (SCOPE) Corporate Communication Summit 2019 concluded with an award ceremony under which winners previously announced for various categories in the field were felicitated. While Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) swept awards across six categories, National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and Water and Power Consultancy Services Limited (WAPCOS) bagged three awards each.

The award ceremony is the third in the series instituted by the apex body in 2016 to recognise the work of the Corporate Communication teams of PSUs.

The Award was presented by Dr BP Singh, IAS, Former Governor, Sikkim & Former Home Secretary, GoI.

GRSE bagged the Second Prize in the category 'Best corporate communication campaign & Programme-External Communication for the second year in a row. The award was accepted by Director(Finance), GRSE, SS Dogra and Swagata Sen Roy, DGM, Corporate Communication

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) walked away with two awards in the Best Corporate Communication Campaign & Program-Internal Communication category and for Crisis Handling. The award was accepted by Sumita Dutta, Executive Director (Corporate Communication) at SAIL

Balmer Lawrie & Co Ltd won two awards in the Effective Use of Digital Media and Special Brand Building Publication categories. The award was accepted by Mohar Mukhopadhyay, Head of Corporate Communications at the PSU

As Bobby Knight, the infamous American Basketball coach once said, "The key is not the will to win… everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important."

While speaking of communication, one cannot miss CS Lewis's opinion on the matter: "Don't use words too big for the subject. Don't say infinitely when you mean very; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something infinite."

A piece of advice from Stephen R. Covey that holds more relevance today than ever before, "When the trust account is high, communication is easy, instant, and effective."

A mantra from Lee Iacocca that illustrates why communication is of paramount importance: "You can have brilliant ideas, but if you can't get them across, your ideas won't get you anywhere." As author Napoleon Hill put it, "A quitter never wins-and-a winner never quits."

"Good communication is as stimulating as black coffee, and just as hard to sleep after," said Anne Morrow Lindbergh.

With winning the maximum number of awards, as many as 6, it holds good for team HPCL what Oscar Wilde had said years ago "One should always play fairly when one has the winning cards."

Team Balmer & Lawrie too felt its presence felt on stage and not just once, "Victory settles a lot of arguments in most people's heads," wrote Robert Jordan, in 'The Fires of Heaven."

"To obtain a victory by any means and with any weapon." writes Chris Bradford in 'The Way of the Dragon' and most of the times you have to be this desperate to secure a victory!

"Opportunity doesn't make appointments, you have to be ready when it arrives," said Tim Fargo and the winning team PFC is a believer.

"You can't win unless you try to win, but you can lose by trying not to lose." writes Jack Campbell in the 'Relentless', and this is so true!

"Every step was a victory. He had to remember that." wrote George Saunders, in 'Tenth of December' and that's how we prepare for a win.

"Tomorrow's victory is today's practice," said Chris Bradford, The Way of the Warrior. Equally true for all the participants.

"Fall. Stand. Learn. Adapt." said Mike Norton, Fighting For Redemption and what it results in is the sheer joy of victory.

"Great victory requires great risk" -Hera, Super happy team NCL prepares for a bigger show next year.

"The only victories which leave no regret are those which are gained over ignorance."- said Napoleon Bonaparte, and in the picture, delighted team NTPC.

"Step follows step, Hope follows Courage, Set your face towards danger, Set your heart on victory," said Gail Carson Levine, how true is that in case of HAL.

Team SAIL had many appearances on the stage and took away a good amount of round of applause too, it's awesome to win, no?

As Sun Tzu said in 'The Art of War', "The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting."

"To be heroic is to be courageous enough to die for something; to be inspirational is to be crazy enough to live a little." and the believer in team BPCL.

"Leaders live by choice, not by accident." Keep the momentum up the winning team.

"The basic ingredient is a dream, You need a dream if you're going to succeed in anything you do." – Mark Gorman.

"Who you are tomorrow begins with what you do today." -Tim Fargo.

With the thought, a smile is the best thing to wear on your face always, Narsh Kumar from team PowerGrid (PGCIL).

KM Prashanth for the team NTPC is all smiles, how truly said Napoleon Hill "A quitter never wins-and-a winner never quits."

Team Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is like "Winning isn't everything, but wanting to win is" Vince Lombardi.

And last but not at all the least, the team HPCL's Corp Comm head Rajiv Goel who walked away with the trophy 'SCOPE Corporate Communication Person Of the Year 2019.
