New Delhi: Shalini Darbari (IRAS) has assumed charge of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of NBCC (India) Limited on October 16. Shalini is an Indian Railways Account Service (IRAS) officer of 1990-batch. Prior to this assignment, she was serving as Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer at Northern Railway's headquarters. According to an earlier order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), she has been appointed to the pot for an initial period of three years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shalini's profile

Shalini is a post-graduate in Economics from Lucknow University. She comes on the board of NBCC with more than two decades of professional experience in diverse fields like finance, administration, project management, corporate finance and loan management. Apart from NBCC, she has also been entrusted with the charge of CVO of HSCL and HSCC, the two Subsidiaries of NBCC and BMTPC. Among the important positions she held earlier before taking over the present assignments, are Director (Finance Expenditure) in Ministry of Railways looking after Investment Planning and Director (Co-ordination) in Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

During her stint as Group General Manager (Finance) with Dedicated Freight Corridor Limited, she has especially contributed to DFCCIL for the construction on Western Corridor being funded by JICA.

NBCC (India) Limited

NBCC (India) Limited, formerly National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited, is a blue-chip Navratna enterprise and a PSU which trades publicly in the market. NBCC acquired 100 percent stake in Miniratna hospital consultancy firm Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation Limited (HSCC) from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on November 6, 2018. The organisation acquired over 51 percent stake in Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited (HSCL), a PSU under the Steel Ministry in 2017.
