New Delhi: Shreejith K Narayanan is set to be the next Director (Operations) of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a PSU under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. He is currently serving as Chief General Manager in the same organisation.

Narayanan has been recommended for the post of Director (Operations) of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. There were a total of six candidates including Narayanan, who were on the list were from CSL, two candidates each from Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) and Indian Navy and one candidate was from General Manager, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE).

As Director (Operations) of CSL, Narayanan will be a member of the Board of Directors and will report to Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for planning & production, fabrication, outfitting, trials and delivery of ships under construction as per contractual schedules. He will be responsible for the large industrial workforce involved with Ship production activities and will be required to ensure adherence to industrial Occupational Safety norms and statutory provisions. He also will be responsible for industrial relations & the motivation of a productive workforce.
