New Delhi: SJVN Limited said on Tuesday that it has received a Letter of Award (LoA) for a 70 MW grid-connected solar power project in the state of Gujarat from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges, the PSU said, “This is to inform you that SJVN Limited has been awarded 70 MW grid-connected Solar Power Project in the state of Gujarat.”
“SJVN will develop 70 MW Solar Power Project including the arrangement of land with long term connectivity with Grid. The tariff of the electricity supplied will be Rs 2.21/ KWh and power generated from this project will be procured by GUVNL for 25 years," it added.
These projects will support SJVN in achieving its ambitious shared vision of electricity generation of 5,000 MW by 2023, 12,000 MW by 2030 and 25,000 MW by 2040 and simultaneously contribute towards the renewable energy capacity addition target of 175 GW by 2022 set by the government.
SJVN is a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Power. SJVN’s present installed capacity is 2,016.51 MW. SJVN has a presence in various sectors of energy generation which include hydro, wind, solar and thermal. The company also has a presence in the field of energy transmission.
