Kolkata: When did you last hear about South Central Coalfields Limited (SSCL)? Most probably your answer would be on the internet if you are preparing for jobs in PSUs. Interestingly, apart from a job notification on the internet, you will not find SSCL anywhere else. Reason? No such company exists. Coal India has issued a notice on its website saying the recently published recruitment of 88,585 vacancies in SSCL is a piece of fake news because it does not have any subsidiary company called South Central Coalfields Limited (SSCL).

Beware of Fraudsters, says the notice

The notice has mentioned that one South Central Coalfields Limited (SSCL) has published the job notification regarding 88,585 multiple vacancies. The website of SSCL which released the notification of the vacancy too is fake as it is not active anymore. Interestingly, the SSCL website in its recruitment notification had promised a refund of the application fee once the candidate has appeared for the test.

Coal India Limited has tweeted -"It has come to our notice that, recently an employment notice for recruitment of 88585 posts was issued in the name of South Central Coalfields Ltd (SCCL) which has also designed a web page under the link www.scclcil.in and claims to be a company under Coal India Limited and Ministry of Coal, Government of India."

Be very cautious when applying for PSU jobs

Meanwhile, CIL has said that in its recruitment process, it does not solicit any deposit or fees whatsoever from any candidate at any stage of the recruitment process, other than the prescribed application fee, as advertised, which is generally not more than Rs 1000/-. SC/ST/PwD candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.

Coal India has also issued the lists of its Subsidiary Companies in the notice. The subsidiaries owned by CIL are:

3. Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited
4. Eastern Coalfields Limited
5. Mahanadi Coalfields Limited
6. Northern Coalfields Limited
7. South Eastern Coalfields Limited
