TCIL pays Govt a dividend of Rs 21.1 crore for FY21

New Delhi: Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) on Friday paid a dividend of Rs 21.1 crore to the Government for the Financial Year 2020-21. The Telecom PSU has reported a standalone net profit of Rs 52.7 crore and revenue of Rs 1,749.2 crore for FY 21. "In 2020-21, TCIL achieved standalone revenue and profit-after-tax of Rs 17,492.90 million and Rs 527.70 million respectively," TCIL said in an official statement released on Friday.

TCIL's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Sanjeev Kumar presented a dividend cheque of Rs 21.1 crore to Department of Telecommunications (DoT)'s Secretary K Rajaraman in New Delhi.

Since its inception, TCIL has been a profit-making company continuously, the company statement said. "TCIL has paid a dividend of Rs 2,678.60 million to the Government till 2020-21 on the government's initial investment in the equity of Rs 3 million. Rs 160 million was further infused during 2015-16. The group and standalone net-worth of the company are Rs 959.51 crore and Rs 611.1 crore million respectively as of March 31, 2021", the statement added.

In 2020-21, TCIL achieved standalone revenue and profit after tax of Rs 174.93 crore and Rs 52.78 crore respectively.

TCIL, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Communications under the Department of Telecommunications was established in 1978. The government holds 100 percent of its share capital. TCIL is a prime engineering and consultancy company. TCIL undertakes projects in all fields of Telecommunications, IT and Civil construction in India and abroad. TCIL has executed projects in over 70 countries across the globe.

Overseas operations of the TCIL are in Kuwait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Mauritius, Nepal etc. in addition to the Pan Africa e-Vidya Bharti and Arogya Bharti Network project operating in more than 15 African countries and more African countries are likely to join.

The TCIL is also executing high-value projects of Rural ICT for the Department of Posts, Defence, Navy OFC Projects, APSFL, Telangana Fiber, BBNL VSAT and Eklavya School.
