The letter said that four officers have been listed in a panel that is going to be valid for two years and will be deputed to the posts of RED/APD as and when vacancies arise

New Delhi: According to a letter accessed exclusively by PSU Watch, four officials posted in the corporate headquarter of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) are set to be promoted to the post of Regional Executive Director/Airport Director. The names of the four officers are — Kaushik Bhattacharjee, Executive Director (Engineering), SK Vyawahare, General Manager (Engineering, Civil), Sanjeev Jindal, General Manager (Engineering, Civil) and Captain Raj Kumar Malik, General Manager (Security).

The letter said that the four officers have been listed in a panel that is going to be valid for two years. The panel refers to an appraisal policy followed by AAI where it shortlists candidates for posts that are expected to fall vacant in due course of time. Shortlisting the candidates in advance and putting them on a panel saves time and expedites the appointment process. The four shortlisted candidates will, therefore, be deputed, to the posts as and when vacancies arise.

It must be noted that there are only five regional executive directors in India. And the position of airport director is the third-senior most post in the AAI hierarchy. Only major airports get airport directors.
