Aspiring singer has already been dubbed "Salam Trudeau" and "Afghan Trudeau" by the country's public because of his resemblance with Canada's Prime Minister

Kabul (Afghanistan): A contestant on an Afghan music show has sent the Internet world in a frenzy, not for his musical prowess, unfortunately. Salam Maftoon, a contestant on Afghan Star, has been in the spotlight for his uncanny resemblance with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Maftoon has already been dubbed "Salam Trudeau" and "Afghan Trudeau" by the country's public, in support of the aspiring musician.

According to Afghanistan's Khaama news agency, Salam Maftoon is a local traditional singer from northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan and is the student of folkloric signer Mir Maftoon of Badakhshan.

Besides the dark, wavy locks of hair, it looks like Maftoon has already perfected Trudeau's furrowed brow. Numerous fans and social media users have suggested that Maftoon would look identical to the PM if he removes his traditional hat and dresses in a formal suit.
