Two MP IPS officers frontrunners for post of CBI

PW Bureau

Officers of Madhya Pradesh cadre who have served the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a good part of their bureaucratic career are two of the names shortlisted by authorities for the post of CBI Director. One of the two is Rina Mitra (1983 batch). She currently serves as the Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Ministry of Home Affairs. The other name is that of Vivek Johri (1984 batch), who is special secretary at Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW). If Mitra is shortlisted for the said position, she would be the first woman director of the Central investigative body.
