New Delhi: Began with an idea of creating a platform for new inventions and inspiring innovation in the field of power the GRIDTECH entered into 6th edition at Pragati maidan in New Delhi. Hon'ble vice president M. Venkaiah Naidu, inaugurated GRIDTECH-2019 on April 3, 2019. This international exhibition has been organized by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), with the support of Ministry of Power, Government of India and in association with CBIP and IEEMA.
An opportunity to discuss environment friendly solutions- NaiduAddressing the gathering the vice president said, “Events such as GRIDTECH 2019 provide an opportunity for Power System professionals in Industry & Academia to exchange ideas & deliberate on environment-friendly solutions to overcome the challenges faced by the sector. It is an excellent platform for evolution of new ideas in the energy sector through brainstorming by seasoned professionals. I am glad that it also has a Student Pavillion & I hope this will give the young students an opportunity to showcase their own innovative ideas.” The three-day exhibition is showcasing new technologies in Transmission, Distribution, Renewable Integration, Smart Grid, Communication etc.

Dedicated 'Innovation Pavillion' for students
In an endeavor to encourage young and talented students’ community towards innovation, a dedi-cated “Students’ Innovation Pavilion” was organized for demonstration of working models from stu-dents of various technical institutes. It would motivate young students and also offer a platform for industry-student interaction.
About 30 student teams from 17 technical institutes across the country are showcasing their innovative work-ing models projects and competing for recognition and cash prizes amounting to Rs. 10 lakhs. On this occasion, A.K. Bhalla, Secretary (Power) Ministry of Power, Government of India, along with CMD (POWERGRID) welcomed Hon’ble Vice President of India.
