Vice President presents 7 ‘National Safety Awards’ to WCL

New Delhi: The Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu presented "National Safety Awards (Mines)" to Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) at the National Safety Awards (Mines) distribution ceremony of the Directorate General of Mines Safety, Ministry of Labour and Employment, held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on December 16. WCL got seven awards in various categories of National Safety Awards in the mining industries of India for the year 2015 and 2016.

Ballarpur 3&4 UG mine (two awards) of Ballarpur Area, Tawa-1 UG Mine (two awards) of Pathakheda Area, Niljai OC of Wani area, Umrer OC of Umrer Area, Mana incline UG mine of Chandrapur Area received awards for the year 2015 and 2016 in various categories. The awards were received by WCL's CMD Rajiv R Mishra, Area General Managers and Mine Managers of the concerned area.

On this occasion, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Secretary (L&E) Heera Lal Samariya, Joint Secretary (L&E) Kalpana Rajsinghot, WCL's Director-General (DGMS) R Subramanian, WCL's Director Technical (P&P) Ajit Kumar Chowdhary, WCL's General Managers Uday Kaole, Alok Kumar, AC Singh, PK Choudhury, Tarun Kumar Shrivastava, AK Dixit, the members of the Tripartite Safety Committee (TSC) and the team of the safety department were prominently present. Rajiv R Mishra congratulated every member of Team WCL for their remarkable achievement.
