Yogesh Kumar Misra assumes charge as CMD of IRCON

New Delhi: Yogesh Kumar Misra has assumed charge as the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Ircon International Limited with effect from September 4. Prior to this, he was serving as Director (Works) in the same organisation. Upon the superannuation of Sunil Kumar Chaudhary on April 31, IRCON's Director (Finance) Mukesh Kumar Singh was given the additional charge of CMD post. Consequently, he has relinquished the additional charge of the post of CMD & CEO with effect from September 4, 2021.

Misra has was recommended for the post of CMD of IRCON by the PESB panel on May 28 and PSU Watch is the first news organisation to report this. He was selected from the list of seven candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel.

Misra is graduated in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. He is an Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer of the 1987 batch and has over 29 years of rich and varied experience in infrastructure works. He joined IRCON in 2006 and subsequently took absorption in IRCON. He has made a valuable contribution while working earlier on the Design & Construction of J&K Rail Link Project and on other Railway capacity enhancement works. Under his leadership, IRCON has secured several projects within India and foreign countries.

Ircon International Limited (IRCON) is an engineering and construction organisation, specialized in transport infrastructure. The PSU was established in 1976, by the government under the Indian Companies Act 1956. IRCON was registered as the Indian Railway Construction International Ltd., a wholly (100%) owned entity of the Ministry of Railways. Its primary charter was the construction of railway projects in India and abroad.
