New Delhi: "2022 would be a very promising year for RINL," said RINL's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Atul Bhatt while delivering his message on the occasion of New Year Day at RINL-VSP on January 1. "January – March quarter was the best quarter in the history of RINL with respect to production and sales. The dreaded second wave of pandemic hit and affected many of us. We lost many of our colleagues during this period. I take this opportunity to thank all the COVID warriors, health workers and front line workers for showing their solidarity during this difficult period. I am happy to say that all the employees and contract workers have been vaccinated, save a few who have health issues," he added.

On the occasion of the first day of the New Year 2022, Bhatt addressed a small gathering of Directors, CGMs, trade union leaders and representatives of SEA, WIPS, SC and ST association and OBC association at RINL-VSP. The event was watched live through the social media platforms in the virtual mode by various departments, Branch Sales offices and Regional offices across India.

Prior to his speech, a unique green initiatives project taken up by RINL-VSP promoting and practising environmental protection measures and also in line with the celebrations of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' was launched by Bhatt. Ceramic pots carrying saplings with the logos of RINL-VSP and 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' engraved upon them are launched. Bhatt unveiled the renovated Admn. Building façade with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav message. 

The annual newsletter Ukkuvani the trilingual in-house magazine of RINL covering the prominent events and happenings at RINL during the year 2021 is released by Atul Bhatt.

"RINL has a history of converting challenges into opportunities. We could achieve improvement in all areas of operations during the year. We have achieved Liquid Steel production of 5.85 Mt with an average of 109 heats per day in the Calendar Year 2021. It translates to about 94 percent utilization of 6.3 Mtpa Liquid Steel capacities. The year also saw RINL achieving another milestone in its efforts towards maintaining a leadership position in energy conservation. Commissioning activities at the Forged Wheel Plant completed and the first batch of wheels were handed over to Railways." said Bhatt in his address.

"We have achieved a sales volume of 3.73 Mt against the production of 3.88 Mt. with a sales turnover of Rs 19,370 crores showing a growth of 69 percent," he said. He appreciated the RINL collective for bringing laurels to the company by winning national and international awards.

While emphasizing on the need to unleash the full potential of the RINL collective, he said that, "Looking ahead, we should not rest on our laurels. We need to work even harder to sustain our position in the market. We should focus on this quarter and try to achieve the best quarter figures in all areas."

Later, Bhatt along with RINL's Director (Operations) AK Saxena visited major units in the plant and extended new year greetings to the employees and witnessed performance presentations given by respective departments.
