Bureaucratic Reshuffle: ACC approves dozens of Secretary-level appointments

New Delhi: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by the Prime Minister has approved the number of Secretary level appointments in various Ministries and Departments:-

Ravi Kant, a 1984 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Bihar cadre, currently working as Secretary in the Department of Food and Public Distribution under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare under the Ministry of Defence.

Anand Kumar, a 1984 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Kerala cadre, currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Culture.

Sanjeev Ranjan, 1985 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Tripura cadre, currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Shipping.

Pawan Kumar Agarwal, a 1985 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of West Bengal cadre, currently serving as Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, has been appointed as Special Secretary (Logistics) in the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Ravi Mittal, a 1986 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Bihar cadre, currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Sports under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Satbir Bedi, a 1986-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Uttarakhand cadre, currently working as Chairperson of National Council for Teacher Education has been appointed as Secretary in the Central Information Commission, Department of Personnel & Training.

Nagendra Nath Sinha, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Jharkhand cadre, currently working as Secretary in the Department of Border Management under the Ministry of Home Affairs has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Rural Development.

Pradip Kumar Tripathi, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Jammu & Kashmir cadre, currently serving as Special Secretary and Establishment Officer in the Department of Personnel and Training has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Steel.

Sudhanshu Panday, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Jammu & Kashmir cadre, currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Food and Public Distribution under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. 

Leena Nandan, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of Uttar Pradesh cadre, currently serving as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

Rajesh Bhushan, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Bihar cadre, currently working as Secretary in the Department of Rural Development has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Health and Family Welfare under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Rameshwar Prasad Gupta, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Gujrat cadre, currently serving as Special Secretary in the NITI Aayog has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Indu Shekhar Chaturvedi, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Jharkhand cadre, currently serving in home cadre, has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

Tarun Kapoor, a 1987-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre, currently serving as Vice Chairman of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Ram Mohan Mishra, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Assam cadre, currently serving as Special Secretary and Development Commissioner in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has been appointed as Secretary in the National Commission for Scheduled Castes under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Rajesh Kumar Verma, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Odisha cadre, currently serving as Special Secretary in the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Corporates Affairs

Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, currently serving as Special Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Culture has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.

Ajay Tirkey, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, currently working as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

Tarun Bajaj, 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Haryana cadre, currently working as Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Officer has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Finance.

Aramane Girdhar, a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Andhra Pradesh, currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Anita Karwal, a 1988 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Gujrat cadre, currently serving as Chairperson of Central Board of Secondary Education has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of School Education & Literacy under the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Arvind Kumar Sharma, a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Gujarat cadre, currently working as Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

Niten Chandra, a 1990 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Odisha cadre, currently serving as Secretary in the Central Information Commission under the Department of Personnel and Training has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Central Agency Section under the Department of Legal Affairs by temporarily upgrading the post.

The ACC has also approved the in-situ up-gradation of the following officers the level of Special Secretary in the rank of Secretary, as a measure personal to them, by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them.

Jyoti Arora, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Haryana cadre, currently working as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology has been appointed as Special Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.

B Anand, a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, currently working as Secretary in the National Commission for Minorities under the Ministry of Minorities Affairs has been appointed as Secretary of National Commission for Minorities under the Ministry of Minority Affairs

Bidyut Bihari, Swain a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Gujarat cadre, currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has been appointed as Special Secretary in the Department of Commerce under the same Ministry.

Apurva Chandra, a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Maharastra cadre, currently working as Additional Secretary and Director General (Acquisition) in the Ministry of Defence has been appointed as Special Secretary and Director General (Acquisition) in the same Ministry.

Rajiv Bansal, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Nagaland cadre, currently serving as Chairman & Managing Director of Air India, has been appointed as CMD of Air India under the Ministry of Civil Aviation in the rank and pay of Secretary to the government.

Ali Raza Rizvi, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre, currently serving as Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has been appointed as Special Secretary & Financial Advisor in the same Ministry.

Praveen Kumar Srivastava, a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Assam cadre, currently working as Additional Secretary in the Department of Home under the Ministry of Home Affairs has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Home under the same Ministry.

Arvind Singh, a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Maharashtra cadre, currently working as Chairman of Airports Authority of India (AAI) a PSU under the Ministry of Civil Aviation has been appointed on the same post in the rank of Secretary to the government.

Indevar Pandey, a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of West Bengal cadre, currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region has been appointed as Special Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.
