ACC approves dozens of Secretary, Joint Secretary & Additional Secretary level appointments

New Delhi: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by the Prime Minister has approved the dozen of Secretary, Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary level appointments in various Ministries and Departments on Tuesday.

Sanjeeva Kumar (IAS), a 1986 batch IAS officer, currently serving as Special Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Border Management under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Vasudha Mishra (IAS), a 1987 batch IAS officer of Telangana cadre, currently serving as Special Secretary in the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, has been appointed as Secretary of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Department of Personnel & Training.

Rakesh Sarwal (IAS), a 1988 batch IAS officer of Tripura cadre, currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, has been appointed as Additional Secretary of NITI Aayog.

S Kishore (IAS), a 1989 batch IAS officer of West Bengal cadre, presently serving in his home cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. 

Anurag Jain (IAS), a 1989 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, presently serving in his home cadre, has been appointed as Vice-Chairman of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Devendra Kumar Singh (IAS), a 1989 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre presently serving in his home cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Development Commissioner in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

Katikithala Srinivas (IAS), a 1989 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, has been appointed as Additional Secretary and the Establishment Officer in the same Department.

Shiv Das Meena (IAS), a 1989 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has been appointed as Chairman of Central Pollution Control Board under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change

Manoj Ahuja (IAS), a 1990 batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre, currently serving as Special Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration under Department of Personnel and Training, has been appointed as Chairman of Central Board of Secondary Education.

Arti Ahuja (IAS)​, a 1990 batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre, currently working as Special Director in Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration under the Department of Personnel & Training, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

Alok Kumar (IAS), a 1990-batch IAS officer of Tripura cadre, presently serving in his home cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat.

Nivedita Shukla Verma (IAS), a 1991 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh, presently serving in her home cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence under the Ministry of Defence.

V Vidyavathi (IAS), a 1991 batch IAS officer of Karnataka cadre, presently serving as Joint Secretary in her home cadre, has been appointed as Director-General of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) under the Ministry of Culture.

Rajendra Kumar (IAS), a 1992 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, currently serving in his home cadre, has been as Director-General of Employees' State Insurance Corporation under the Ministry of Labour & Employment.

Rakesh Ranjan (IAS), a 1992 batch IAS officer of Manipur cadre, presently serving in his home cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Anil Kumar Nayak, a 1986 batch Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS), currently serving as Joint Secretary of Ministry of Mines, has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor of Department of Posts.

Aniruddha Kumar (IAS), a 1987 batch IRS (Income Tax) officer, currently serving as Joint Secretary of Ministry of Power, has been appointed as Additional Secretary of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

Subir Mallick (IA&AS), a 1989 batch IA&AS officer, currently serving as Additional Financial Advisor and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence (Finance), has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Department of Agricultural Research and Education.

Anuradha Thakur (IAS), a 1994 batch IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre, currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management under the Ministry of Finance, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in Cabinet Secretariat.

The ACC has also approved in-situ up-gradation of the following officers to the level of Additional Secretary, as a measure personal to them, by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them:

Ashish Gupta (IPS), a 1989 batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh, currently posted as CEO of NATGRID under Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as CEO of NATGRID under Ministry of Home Affairs in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.

Rashmi Chowdhary (IRPS), a 1989 batch IRPS officer, currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training under Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the same Department.

Pankaj Kumar Mishra (IRS), a 1989 batch IRS officer, currently posted as Director of Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-IND) in the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance, has been appointed as Director of Financial Intelligence Unit (FIUIND) in the Department of Revenue under Ministry of Finance in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
