ALIMCO, IndianOil to distribute aids & appliances

New Delhi/Patna: Bihar state office of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil, Patna) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) for the distribution of aids and appliances. The MoU has been signed by ALIMCO's Deputy General Manager (CSR) Ajay Chaudhary and IndianOil's (Bihar State Office) Deputy General Manager (HR & CSR) Pramod Ranjan at Patna, Bihar on March 5. On the occasion, IndianOil's Executive Director Vibhash Kumar and General Manager (HR) Sushil Yadav were also present.

As per the MoU, signed between IndianOil and ALIMCO the aids and appliances worth Rs 80 lakh will be distributed among the needy persons at Maharanganj LS parliamentary constituency, Bihar. The MoU has been signed under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme of IndianOil.

It is worth mention here, ALIMCO in association with the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment had organised a mega distribution camp at Parade Ground, Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) recently, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this mega camp, 56,905 numbers of daily living assistive aids and devices of the different type for various categories were distributed free of cost among 10,406 divyangjan under ADIP scheme and 16,468 senior citizens (belonging to BPL category) under Rashtriya Vayoshree Yoajna Scheme.

ALIMCO is a "not for profit" PSU and has been manufacturing various types of aids and appliances on a mass scale to meet the requirements of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs-Divyangjan), across the country.

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil) is a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. IndianOil has been actively engaged in a gamut of social welfare and upliftment activities across the nation, in addition to reaching essential fuels such as Kerosene, LPG, Petrol, Diesel, etc. to the nook and corner of the country. IndianOil's key corporate social responsibility (CSR) thrust areas include 'safe drinking water and protection of water resources,' 'healthcare and sanitation,' 'education and employment-enhancing vocational skills,' 'empowerment of women and socially and economically backward groups,' etc.
