New Delhi: Amit Kumar Singal (IRS) has been selected for the appointment as Director in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). According to an order issued on February 21, by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been selected for appointment as Director in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), New Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier.

Singal is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of 2007-batch. He was recommended for the Central deputation by the Department of Revenue. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Central Vigilance Commission," the order further read.

Central Vigilance Commission (CVC)

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is an apex governmental body created to address governmental corruption. The Parliament enacted a law conferring statutory status on the CVC in 2003. It has the status of an autonomous body, free of control from any executive authority, charged with monitoring all vigilance activity under the Central Government, advising various authorities in the central government organisations in planning, executing, reviewing and reforming their vigilance work.
