New Delhi: Amit Verma (IFoS) has been selected for the appointment as Director in the NITI Aayog. According to an order issued on February 21, issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Verma has been selected for the appointment as Director in the NITI Aayog under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period of five years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier. Presently, he is posted as Conservator of Forests, Yamuna Circle, Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

Verma is an Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer of the 2005-batch. He was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the NITI Aayog," the order further read.
