New Delhi: IAS officer Ashish Thakare has been appointed as Director in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The appointment comes under the Central Staffing Scheme and has been approved by the competent authority.
Thakare is a 2011-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre. Presently, he is posted as Secretary (Director Equivalent) of the Board of Revenue, Cuttack in his home cadre.
According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on June 3, Thakare will serve in his new role for a period of five years from the date he assumes charge or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has directed the Government of Odisha to relieve him of his current duties immediately to enable him to take up the new assignment in Delhi.
