Lavania has been appointed under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The DoPT has directed that he be relieved of his current responsibilities immediately to enable him to take up the new assignment in New Delhi.

Lavania, a 2009-batch IAS officer, has held various administrative roles in the Madhya Pradesh cadre and is expected to bring extensive field and policy experience to his new role in the agriculture ministry.
