The Ministry of Defence has approved the appointment of Chandraker Bharti (IAS) as Part-Time Official Director on the Board of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) in place of Ashwani Kumar (IAS)

New Delhi: Chandraker Bharti (IAS) has been appointed as Part-Time Official Director on the Board of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) on Thursday. During the regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Thursday, the defence PSU said that the Ministry of Defence has approved the appointment of Chandraker Bharti (IAS) as Part-Time Official Director (i.e. Government Director) on the Board of BDL in place of Ashwani Kumar. Bharti is a 1996-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of AGMUT cadre. He is currently serving as Joint Secretary (Aerospace) in the Department of Defence Production under the Ministry of Defence.

Profile of Chandraker Bharti (IAS)

Bharti is an engineering graduate from Delhi College of Engineering. He joined the Indian Administrative (IAS) Services in September 1996. He has also acquired an M.Sc. degree in Public Management & Policy from the London School of Economics & Political Science, UK. He has more than 24 years of experience in Civil Services and held various important assignments, which include Additional Commissioner, Department of Sales Tax, Govt. of NCT of Delhi; Director, Ministry of Commerce & Industry; Development Commissioner in various Government Departments such as Agriculture, Finance & Planning, Industries & Commerce, Information Technology, etc. in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. He had also served for a short period at Health & Family Welfare and Environment & Forest Departments of Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
