New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the assignment of the additional charge of the posts of Secretary (Security), Cabinet Secretariat and Chairman, National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention to Sanjeeva Kumar (IAS). He is currently serving as Secretary in the Department of Border Management under the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has been given additional charge of the posts with immediate effect until further orders. Earlier, he has held additional charge as Member (Finance) of Space Commission, Earth Commission and Atomic Energy Commission.

Sanjeeva is a Masters of Science (MSc). He joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1986. In his career spanning over three decades, he has served in different Ministries (Finance and Defence) at the Centre and in different departments such as Home, Finance, Labour, Environment & Forests, Health and Irrigation in the state governments of Assam and Meghalaya. He has a wide-ranging and rich experience as a civil servant, both at execution and policy-making level.

Further, ACC has approved the proposal of DoPT (Training Division) for extension of entrustment of the additional charge of the post of Director of the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISMT) to SD Sharma (CSS). He is currently serving as Joint Secretary (Training) in the Department of Personnel & Training for a period of three months beyond November 8, 2020.
