New Delhi: Divyanshu Jha (IAS), who is currently serving as Under Secretary, has been promoted as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt of India. According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on February 13, the Competent Authority has approved the appointment of Divyanshu as Deputy Secretary of MNRE under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post and for a period up to January 25, 2026 (i.e. admissible tenure of 4 years under the Central Staffing Scheme).

Divyanshu is a 2014-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Jharkhand cadre. He has been serving as Under Secretary in MNRE since January 2022.

Jha is an Engineering Graduate (Computer Science) from IIT-Kanpur. He had held various important positions in the State Government of Jharkhand as well as in the Central Government including Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate of Chatra, Director of Information Technology, Joint Secretary of Planning and Finance Department, Deputy Development Commissioner, Executive Director of Jharkhand State Aarogya Society etc. in the State Govt of Jharkhand and Attached Officer in National Health Agency, Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Urban Development in the Govt of India.
