New Delhi: The Central government has approved the appointment of Dr Subodh Kumar (IAS) as Private Secretary (PS) to the Union Minister for Food Processing and Industries Pashupati Kumar Paras. According to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), he has been appointed to the post at the level of Deputy Secretary with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post and for the balance period of his tenure of five years as Private Secretary, which will be up to October 8, 2024, or on a co-terminus basis or till he ceases to function as PS to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Kumar is a 2010-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Tamil Nadu cadre.

Pashupati Kumar Paras is an Indian politician from the state of Bihar and the Minister of Food Processing Industries in the Union Cabinet. He is currently serving as a Member of the Lok Sabha from Hajipur. He has also held the post of the Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources in the Government of Bihar.
