New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of two Indian Police Service (IPS) officers as Joint Directors in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), according to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

Atul Kumar Thakur, an IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre (2008 batch), who is currently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the CBI, has been appointed as Joint Director, CBI. His appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge of the post for an overall tenure of seven years up to November 24, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Pankaj Kumar Singh, also an IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre (2008 batch) and currently serving as DIG in the CBI, has likewise been appointed as Joint Director, CBI. His tenure will be for an overall period of seven years up to December 5, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
