Govt approves appointment of IAS officers in Rural Development and Environment Ministry

The Govt has approved the appointment of two senior IAS officers to key Secretary-level positions in the Rural Development and Environment Ministry

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of two senior IAS officers to key Secretary-level positions in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Department of Land Resources under the Ministry of Rural Development.

According to an order issued by the Secretariat of the ACC on September 30, 2026, Narendra Bhooshan, IAS (UP:92), currently serving as Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development, has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Bhooshan will succeed Tanmay Kumar, IAS (RJ:93), upon his superannuation on September 30, 2026.

The ACC has also approved the appointment of Dilip Kumar, IAS (PB:95), currently serving as Director General (Training), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, as Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development.

Dilip Kumar will take over the post from Narendra Bhooshan following Bhooshan’s appointment as Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
