Bureaucratic Reshuffle: Govt approves appointments of 11 senior officers on Sep 25

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a number of appointments of senior officers to key positions across the Central Government, including the Department of Rural Development, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Steel, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ministry of Power and Ministry of Education.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training on September 25, the ACC approved the appointment of Vipin Kumar, IAS (BH:1996), Chairman, Airports Authority of India (AAI), Ministry of Civil Aviation, as Additional Secretary, Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development.

Srikant Nagulapalli, IAS (AP:1998), Director General of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.

Sarita Chauhan Chand, IAS (AGMUT:1999), Additional Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Steel.

The ACC has also approved the appointment of Anand Singh, IAS (KL:2000), as Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.

P. Hemalatha, IAS (KN:2000), Development Commissioner, Cochin Special Economic Zone, Department of Commerce, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, DoPT. The appointment involves temporarily upgrading a vacant Joint Secretary-level post in the department.

Following Nagulapalli's appointment, V. Ponnuraj, AS (KN:2000), has been appointed as Director General of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.

Piyush Singh, IAS (MH:2000), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, has been appointed as Mission Director, National Water Mission, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.

The ACC has appointed Mandeep K Bhandari, IAS (AGMUT:2001), presently in the cadre, as Chairperson, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Ministry of Education, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India. The post has been temporarily upgraded for the purpose.

Ankita Mishra Bundela, IAS (AGMUT:2001), Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. The appointment also involves temporary upgrading of a vacant Joint Secretary post.

In another appointment, Manisha Sensarma, IES (1995), presently in the cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. A vacant DS/Director-level post in the ministry has been temporarily upgraded to the Additional Secretary level for the appointment.

The ACC further approved that the period between completion of foreign assignments and assumption of their new posts by Anand Singh and V. Ponnuraj will be treated as compulsory wait in DoPT.
