New Delhi: In a major bureaucratic level reshuffle, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointments of 18 IAS officers on the Secretary level in the different Ministries and Departments. Here is the list:
Deepak Khandekar (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Khandekar is a 1985-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Madhya Pradesh. He is currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
Upendra Prasad Singh (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles. Singh is a 1985-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Odisha cadre. He is currently serving as Secretary in the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Fertilizers under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Chaturvedi is a 1987-batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh. He is currently serving as Secretary Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals under the same Ministry.
Yogendra Tripathy (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals under Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers vice Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi (IAS) upon his appointment as Secretary in the Department of Fertilizers. Tripathy is a 1985-batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre. He is currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism.
Alok Tandon (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Mines. Tandon is a 1986-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. Presently, he is serving in his home cadre.
GV Venugopala Sarma (IAS) has been appointed as Chairman of the National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention (Secretary level). Sarma is a 1986-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre. He is currently serving as Member Secretary in the National Disaster Management Authority under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Pankaj Kumar (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti vice Upendra Prasad Singh (IAS), upon his appointment as Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles. Kumar is a 1987-batch IAS officer of Nagaland cadre. He is currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Unique Identification Authority of India (UDAI) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Otem Dai (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). Dai is a 1987-batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre. He has been appointed to the post by temporarily upgrading the post to the Secretary level. Presently, he is serving in his home cadre.
Alok Kumar (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Power vice Sanjeev Nandan Sahai (IAS) upon his superannuation on January 31. Currently, he is serving in the home-cadre.
Bidyut Bihari Swain (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME). Swain is a 1988-batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre. He is currently serving as Special Secretary in the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Praveen Kumar Srivastava (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary (Coordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat. Srivastava is a 1988-batch IAS officer of Assam cadre. He is currently serving as Special Secretary in the Department of Home under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Arvind Singh (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism vice Yogendra Tripathy (IAS) upon his appointment as Secretary in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals. Singh is a 1988-batch IAS officer of Maharasthra cadre. He is currently serving as Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Alka Tiwari (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes in rank and pay of Secretary. Tiwari is a 1988-batch IAS officer of the Jharkhand cadre. She is currently serving as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Department of Fertilizers under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
The ACC has also approved in-situ up-gradation of the following officers to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India, as a measure personal to them:
Praveen Garg (IAS) has been appointed as Special Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change by temporarily upgrading the post held by him. Garg is a 1988-batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh. He is currently serving as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.
Sukhbir Singh Sandhu (IAS) has been appointed as Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways in the rank and pay of Secretary by restoring the post to the Secretary level. Sandhu is a 1988-batch IAS officer of Uttarakhand. He is currently serving as Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India.
Anjali Bhawara (IAS) has been appointed as Special Secretary under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs by temporarily upgrading the post held by her. Bhawara is a 1988-batch IAS officer of Punjab cadre. He is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Jatindra Nath Swain (IAS) has been appointed as Managing Director of Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) Ltd., in the rank and pay of Secretary by temporarily upgrading the post. He is currently serving on the same post.
Anil Kumar Jha (IAS) has been appointed as Special Secretary in the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance by temporarily upgrading the post held by him. Jha is a 1988-batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre. He is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the same Department.
