Praveen Vashista (IPS) & Sanjay Kumar Sinha (IFoS) get tenure extension

• ACC has cleared tenure extension of Praveen Vashista (IPS) and Sanjay Kumar Sinha (IFoS)

• Praveen Vashista (IPS) is currently working as Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs

• Sanjay Kumar Sinha (IFoS) has been deployed as Joint Secretary of the Department of Higher Education

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for extension of the central deputation tenure of Praveen Vashista (IPS) as Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the services of Vashista have been extended for a period of three months beyond January 14. He is a 1991-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Bihar cadre. He is currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Further, the ACC has approved the proposal of the Department of Higher Education for extension of the central deputation tenure of Sanjay Kumar Sinha (IFoS) as Joint Secretary of the Department of Higher Education. According to the DoPT order, the services of Sinha have been extended for a period of three years beyond November 23, 2020. Sinha is an Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer of the 1993 batch. He is serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education.
