New Delhi: Kumar Saurabh Raj (IAS) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The Central Government approved his appointment on Wednesday. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Saurabh Raj has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Raj is a 2011-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Punjab cadre. Presently, he is posted as Commissioner-Municipal Corporation in the State Govt of Punjab. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Ministry of Civil Aviation," the order further read.
