New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Manish Mishra (IAS) as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals under the Central Staffing Scheme.

Mishra is a 2015-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of West Bengal cadre. Previously, he was posted as Special Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Home & Hill Affairs Department in Kolkata. He was transferred to this position from the Darjeeling District Magistrate

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Mishra, who is presently on compulsory wait in the DoPT, has been appointed for a tenure of four years from the date of assuming charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme and will take effect from the date Mishra assumes charge as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Government of India.
