New Delhi: Muni Ram Meena (IOFS) has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Public Enterprises under the Ministry of Finance. According to a Personnel Ministry order, he has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier.

Meena is an Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS) of 2008-batch. He was recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Defence Production. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Department of Public Enterprises," the order added.

Department of Public Enterprises (DPE)

The Department of Public Enterprises is the nodal department for all the Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and formulates policy pertaining to CPSEs. It lays down, in particular, policy guidelines on performance improvement and evaluation, autonomy and financial delegation and personnel management in CPSEs. It furthermore collects and maintains information in the form of a Public Enterprises Survey on several areas in respect of CPSEs.
