New Delhi: Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer N.B.S. Rajput (Odisha cadre, 1999 batch) has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Public Enterprises Department, Government of Odisha. He will also continue to hold the charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC).

Prior to this, Rajput was serving as the Principal Secretary to the Governor of Odisha. His latest appointment is expected to strengthen the strategic direction and operational efficiency of Odisha’s public sector undertakings (PSUs), particularly in the transport sector.

A 1999-batch officer with a background in Mechanical Engineering from MANIT Bhopal, Rajput brings over two decades of experience across key administrative domains, including public administration, rural development, urban governance, land revenue management, technical education, and administrative reforms.

His notable assignments include serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, Government of India (2020–2024), Divisional Commissioner, Sambalpur, Commissioner of Lands Records and Settlement, and District Collector in multiple districts, both in Odisha and Madhya Pradesh. He has also held key positions in Panchayati Raj, Urban Development, Health & Family Welfare, and Technical Education departments.
