Pradip Kumar Tripathi (IAS) assumes charge as Steel Secretary

Senior bureaucrat Pradip Kumar Tripathi (IAS) has assumed chage as Secretary in the Ministry of Steel on Monday

New Delhi: Pradip Kumar Tripathi (IAS) has taken over charge as Secretary in the Ministry of Steel on Monday, according to an official statement issued by the Ministry. His appointment in the Ministry of Steel was approved by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) in April this year. With this, Tripathi has succeeded Binoy Kumar (IAS), who superannuated on May 31, 2020.

Tripathi is a 1987-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Jammu & Kashmir cadre. Prior to this assignment, he was serving as Special Secretary & Establishment Officer in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

Ministry of Steel

The Ministry of Steel is an executive branch agency of the government that is responsible for formulating all policies regarding steel production, distribution and pricing in India. Currently, the ministry is headed by a union minister, Dharmendra Pradhan and is assisted by a Minister of State, Faggan Singh Kulaste.
