Rajesh Aggarwal (IAS) gets additional charge as Minority Affairs Secretary

Aggarwal will hold the additional charge from May 14 to May 23, in the wake of the leave of Chandra Sekhar Kumar (IAS), who is the current Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary of Ministry of Minority Affairs to Rajesh Aggarwal, IAS (MH:1989). He is currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan).

According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on May 13, Aggarwal will hold the additional charge from May 14 to May 23, 2025. The temporary assignment comes in the wake of the leave of Chandra Sekhar Kumar, IAS (OR:1992), who is the current Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

Rajesh Aggarwal is a senior Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1989 Maharashtra cadre, and brings with him vast administrative experience across various government departments.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs is primarily responsible for the formulation of overall policy and planning, coordination, evaluation, and review of the regulatory framework and development programs for minority communities in India.
