New Delhi: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has announced the appointment of Richa Verma (IAS) as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Higher Education, Delhi. She is a 2012-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre.

According to an official order issued by the DoPT on Monday, the appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date she assumes charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Verma holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) degree in Dentistry from Maharishi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak.

In her administrative career, Verma has served in various key roles within the Himachal Pradesh government. She was previously posted as Managing Director of the Himachal Pradesh State Handicrafts & Handloom Corporation. Prior to her central deputation, she served as Managing Director of the Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (HPSIDC).

Known for her commitment to public service and administrative efficiency, Verma has played a significant role in promoting industrial and handicraft development initiatives in the state. She has now been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Higher Education, Government of India, under the Central Staffing Scheme.
