New Delhi (Gujarat state News) Former Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department of Gujarat, Sangeeta Singh (IAS) has been appointed as Vigilance Commissioner of Gujarat on Saturday. The notification of her appointment came just after her retirement from the services. Singh is a 1986-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS, Retd.) Officer of Gujarat cadre. Prior to her appointment as Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department of Gujarat, she was posted in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Gujarat.

Gujarat Vigilance Commission

'Gujarat Vigilance Commission' is the state Vigilance Commission of Gujarat. It is a single-member Commission consisting of the Vigilance Commissioner. The Commission has by convention the same measure of independence as the Gujarat Public Service Commission and it is not subordinate to any Department of the State Government in the exercise of its powers and functions. The Commission is attached to the Home Department for administrative matters.
