New Delhi: Senior bureaucrat Saurabh Vijay has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), according to an official order issued on Wednesday.
Vijay, a 1998-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Maharashtra cadre, will assume the role in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India. His appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), the Personnel Ministry said.

In a related set of senior-level bureaucratic appointments, Manish Bhardwaj, a Gujarat-cadre IAS officer currently serving as Secretary at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has been appointed as Adviser in the Inter State Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Following Bhardwaj’s move, Nilkanth S Avhad, a 1999-batch IAS officer of the Punjab cadre, has been named Secretary of NDMA.
Meanwhile, Priyank Bharti, also of the 1999 batch, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. He will additionally hold the charge of Director General of the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

Further, Richa Misra, a 1996-batch officer of the Indian Defence Accounts Service, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
The appointments are part of a broader administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening key government departments and institutions.
