New Delhi: Cairn Energy has appointed Catherine Krajicek as an independent non-executive director on the company's board with effect from July 1. Cairn's Chairman Ian Tyler said that Krajicek's technical background and the depth and breadth of his experience accrued while occupying the senior management in the oil and gas industry across many different assets and countries will be a significant asset to the board. "We look forward to working with Catherine as the company continues to deliver on its strategic objectives," he said.
She holds a BSc and MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Krajicek started out with Conoco as an associate engineer and worked with the company for 22 years, holding oil and gas technical and subsequently asset management roles in both the US and Indonesia.
In 2007, she joined Marathon Oil as asset manager for their Bakken assets and then went on to become a project manager for Marathon's Droshky subsea development project in Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. She later assumed the role of asset manager for all of Marathon's production operations in the Gulf of Mexico.
Before retiring from Marathon in 2018, she held a range of other vice president (VP) positions at the company, including VP, Health, Environment, Safety and Security, VP, Technology and Innovation, and VP, Conventional Assets.
