DGCA bars 6 Jet Airways pilots from flying Airbus A320

New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has barred six former pilots of Jet Airways from appearing in an examination which is essential for securing a permit to fly Airbus A320 after they were caught cheating in the examination.

The bar is going to effective for a period of six months.

The test was being conducted by IndiGo

The six pilots, who were earlier flying Boeing B737 for Jet Airways, were appearing in an examination to get permits to fly Airbus A320. The exam was being conducted in-house by IndiGo Airlines in the presence of a DGCA invigilator.

After debt-ridden Jet Airways shut down operations in April, a large part of its workforce has been absorbed by other domestic airlines like IndiGo and SpiceJet.
