Jet staff says Singh was facing financial constraints

According to the airline's staff and Employees Association, Singh was facing "financial constraints" as employees have not got their salaries for a long time. "He (Singh) was suffering from cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy. Prime facie, it seems he was suffering from depression due to the ailment," a police official said.

First case of suicide since Jet suspended operations

This is the first such case reported in the aftermath of Jet shutting down operations earlier this month. Singh is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters. One of his sons is also employed with the operations department of Jet Airways.

A case of accidental death case has been registered with the police and an investigation is underway into the incident, the police officer said.
