AAI donates food supply vehicle to HKM-Guwahati

Guwahati: Airports Authority of India (AAI) at North East Region has donated a food delivery vehicle to Hare Krishna Movement, Guwahati (HKMG) which is distributing free meals to people at various locations in the country and at Guwahati also.

The vehicle was procured by AAI under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) scheme and was given to Hare Krishan Movement, Guwahati branch on July 17, at the regional headquarters, NER of AAI.

LGBI Airport Guwahati's Airport Director Ramesh Kumar handed over the keys to the members of HKM, Guwahati along with the members of AAI's CSR team led by AAI's General Manager Maya Devi J.

Expanding its horizon to feed hungry and needy people, HKM-Guwahati, they have started "Pure for Cure" "Saatwik Food Distribution"  at the government hospitals, orphanages, slum dwellings, old age home and many more locations in Guwahati city every day.

The Pure-for Cure food distribution programme was started by HKM-Guwahati last year for which AAI is also funding food materials. And the taste for Saatwik food is not limited to these places, the ever-increasing demand of the feeding program has forced them to increase the food distribution programme in above-said areas and in the vicinity.

As a responsible organisation, AAI sponsored food carrying vehicles to carry meals to different locations in the city on a regular basis in hospitals, slums etc.
The mini lorry shaped vehicle, A Mahindra Jeeto S6, which has a capacity of carrying 300 person's meal at a time delivered at the cost of Rs. 3,58,000/-  (approx). The beneficiary of this Saatwik food will get the advantage of – Cured material miseries, some happy state of mind and steady intelligence.

B Muralidaran, General Manager (HR); MC Jayarajan, Jt GM (EC); Vimarsh Yadav, Sr Manager (ATSEP) and OSD to Airport Director along with the members of Hare Krishna Movement were also present at the handing over ceremony of the food vehicle.
