New Delhi: It has been nine days since India is under complete lockdown due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced 21-days lockdown to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on March 25. In this tough time, most of the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have come forward to help the nation's fight against the Coronavirus making tremendous contributions.

To support the fight, state-run Navratna PSU NBCC (India) Limited along with its subsidiaries companies have contributed a total of Rs 4.08 crore to the Prime Minister's citizen assistance and relief in emergency situations (PM CARES) from its corporate social responsibility (CSR) Fund for the financial year 2020-21. In addition to this, the company had already contributed Rs 196.25 lakhs for the same cause from its CSR fund for the financial year 2019-2020. Thus the total amount contributed by the Navratna PSU stands at 6.04 crore to the PM CARES Fund.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs' Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra lauded the NBCC's efforts on Twitter and said, "I applaud the gesture of NBCC & its subsidiaries, who have come forward in support & transferred a total of Rs 4.08 cr to PM CARES from 2020-21 CSR Fund. This is in addition to Rs 196.25 lakhs transferred earlier out of 2019-2020 CSR funds."
