ITI Limited distributes essential goods for poor families

ITI Limited has begun the second phase distribution of essential provisions bags to 1,200 poor families of nearby localities during Coronavirus crisis

Bengaluru: Continuing its efforts to provide support to needy people during the nation-wide lockdown, ITI Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, on April 17 distributed the general provision items to poor families of Bhovi colony, Caudhenahalli, Varnasi, Yrannpalya and Muneshwar Nagar. More than 1,200 bags containing rice, sugar, ragi flour, sooji, rice flakes, tea packets, salt and biscuits were provided to needy people of nearby localities.

Reiterating its commitment to giving back to society, ITI Limited's CMD RM Agarwal said, "In the first phase the company has already adopted 1,000 poor families of Ambedkar Nagar near ITI Township, Doorvani Nagar. In the second phase of distribution, we have included more nearby localities and distributed more than 1,200 provision bags to families who are not able to go to work during the lockdown. ITI Limited, as a committed entity will keep helping the society in the coming days as well." The bags were handed over to needy people at ITI Limited's Community Hall in the presence of senior officials and employees of the company. In the third phase, the company is expecting to distribute provisions bags in other localities as well.
