New Delhi: NTPC Talcher Kaniha successfully organised the 13th Rural Cultural Meet on Wednesday, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, reaffirming its commitment to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Odisha.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 550 students representing 35 nearby schools, offering a vibrant platform for showcasing traditional art forms while nurturing young talent from surrounding villages.

The programme was inaugurated by the NTPC Talcher Kaniha's Executive Director KN Reddy through the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, in the presence of General Manager (O&M) SK Kundu, Head of HR Navneet Kumar and other senior executives.

Addressing the gathering, Reddy appreciated the active participation of students from various schools and encouraged them to strike a balance between academic excellence and cultural pursuits. Emphasising the importance of preserving Odisha’s rich traditions, he assured continued support to schools by providing platforms to promote creativity, innovation and traditional art forms.

The cultural performances were organised across three categories, Junior, Middle and Senior. Winners in each category were awarded First, Second and Third prizes, along with two consolation prizes. The programme concluded with the felicitation of all participants with certificates and mementos in recognition of their efforts and participation.

The Rural Cultural Meet forms an integral part of NTPC Talcher Kaniha’s CSR outreach, aimed at strengthening community engagement and fostering cultural awareness among the younger generation.
