Rourkela: Various health problems of people belonging to the poorer strata of the society that need surgical intervention to get neglected or unattended because of lack of awareness and financial constraints. To address these problems SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) as part of its CSR initiatives has in place 'Project Charak.'
On March 24, Wilson Bage, age 42 years, Nistar Bage, age 60 years and Kunal Jojowar, age 30 years from Purnapani Hathibari were admitted in Ispat General Hospital under Project Charaka. They were detected of hydrocele problems in the multi-disciplinary camp organised by CSR Department at Monko Gram Panchayat Office, in Bisra Block held recently.
A team of expert doctors comprising Dr RK Behera, Director, Dr MK Panigrahi, Deputy CMO along with Dr Manoj Kumar Pradhan, Deputy CMO and Dr Jyoti Ranjan Sahoo, Consultant Surgery carried out the surgeries. The post-surgical report was found satisfactory for all three of them.
The timely detection, diagnosis and treatment helped in preventing further medical complications thereby helping the patients lead a normal life.
