BEL, DGQA sign MoU for long-term provisioning of electronic fuzes

New Delhi: Navratna defence public sector undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) for the long-term provisioning of Electronic Fuzes as Proof Stock Components (PSCs).

According to an official statement issued on Thursday, the agreement is aimed at ensuring the timely supply of various Electronic Fuzes in accordance with stipulated specifications and quality standards. The components will be used for proof firing activities as well as for the evaluation and trial of various weapons and ammunition being procured by the Indian Army.

The collaboration is expected to strengthen the supply chain for critical ammunition components and support quality assurance processes associated with defence procurement.

Under the MoU, BEL and DGQA will work towards establishing a structured framework and roadmap for the long-term provisioning of Electronic Fuzes as PSCs. The agreement will also facilitate the finalisation of a rate contract for the supply of these components.

The initiative is expected to enhance coordination between the defence electronics manufacturer and the quality assurance agency, ensuring sustained availability of proof stock components required for testing, evaluation and certification of weapons and ammunition systems.
