BEML secures land in Chhattisgarh to set up heavy earth moving equipment manufacturing facility

According to a regulatory filing made by BEML on Friday, the Chhattisgarh state cabinet has approved the allotment of 100 acres of land to BEML in the Janjgir-Champa district

New Delhi: BEML Limited, a leading defence and heavy equipment manufacturing Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has announced a major expansion initiative with the acquisition of land in Chhattisgarh for a new manufacturing facility.

According to a regulatory filing made by the company on May 9, the Chhattisgarh state cabinet has approved the allotment of 100 acres of land to BEML in the Janjgir-Champa district. The land has been allocated at a nominal rate of Re 1 per acre, facilitating the establishment of a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit for Heavy Earth Moving Equipment.

The proposed plant is expected to enhance BEML's production capacity and support its growing role in India’s infrastructure and mining sectors. This strategic move also aligns with the government’s "Make in India" initiative and is likely to generate employment and industrial growth in the region.
