GRSE appoints Dr Garima Bhagat as Govt Nominee Director

GRSE has announced the appointment of Dr Garima Bhagat as a Part-Time Official Director (Government Nominee Director) on its board

New Delhi: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) has announced the appointment of Dr Garima Bhagat as a Part-Time Official Director (Government Nominee Director) on its board. The appointment, effective December 23, follows a nomination from the Ministry of Defence as per its letter dated December 10, 2024.

Dr Bhagat is presently serving as Joint Secretary (Land System) in the Department of Defence Production under the Ministry of Defence. She has over 27 years of experience in public service.

A distinguished officer from the 1996 batch of the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax), Dr Bhagat holds a B. Tech degree with a gold medal, a law degree, and a PhD from IIT Delhi. Her career spans significant roles in taxation, anti-corruption, public procurement, administration, and competition law, including her tenure as Commissioner of Income Tax in Delhi, Chief Vigilance Officer at ESIC, and Joint Director General at the Competition Commission of India.

Known for her expertise and contributions, Dr Bhagat has also served as a visiting faculty at numerous educational and training institutions. In her current role, she is involved in advancing India’s land system capabilities within the defence production domain.

GRSE confirmed that Dr Bhagat is not debarred by any statutory authority from holding the office of Director and does not have any inter-se relationships with other directors on the Board. Furthermore, she does not hold any equity shares in the company.
