NHPC signs MoU with Indian Army for construction of underground caverns

As per the MoU, NHPC shall be responsible for design and engineering, civil construction, project management and execution of the projects

New Delhi: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between state-owned National Hydropower Corporation (NHPC) and the Indian Army for 'Construction of underground caverns and semi-underground bunkers' at various locations in India on turnkey basis at NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad.

Along with Cherian Mathew, Executive Director, Renewable Energy and Consultancy, Balraj Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC, signed the MoU with Lieutenant General Nav K Khanduri, VSM, in the presence of Ratish Kumar, Director (Projects), NK Jain, Director (Personnel), Janardan Choudhary, Director (Technical) and Ved Prakash, CVO from NHPC.

As per the MoU, NHPC shall be responsible for design and engineering, civil construction, project management and execution of the projects.
